What you get is what you see

  • On set / on location real time preview composite of CGI and live action
We allow filmmakers to take full creative control of visual effects productions, in real-time and during the shoot. Work with the computer environments in relation to the actors by blocking, scaling, timing, figuring out camera angles and choose from 360° views. You call the shots.
  • Camera and Meta data acquisition: Accurate camera data recording time-coded to live-action video
We will capture and record movements of the camera which allows you to know the correct world coordinates, focal length information, position and orientation of the camera at any time of any take.
  • Virtual set consultancy for on-set usage
We will work with the Post facility of your choice or work directly with you to find a solution that meets your needs, whether your needs are 3d environments or 3d characters to 2d still or video plates.
  • Script and project consultency
We will go through script and storyboards and discuss the needs and right approach for your project.
  • Virtual scene operation on the set
We will align the virtual worlds and elements to the real world synchronized to time-code. We can trigger any animation at any point in time and we will log each take with relevant information for you.
  • Post production consultancy
We will hand over all the captured data with all relevant information for you to start working right away. If needed, we will consult in the process to make sure the camera and event data are treated correctly.

Quotes

  • “Unlike the transition to digital, which was mostly about the recording medium, this one is about the basic approach to making movies. We're actually bringing a significant amount of postproduction onto the set and merging it with production. We are redefining the workflow, and I can only see it becoming more integrated as filmmakers realize the creative and financial advantages to working this way.” Randal Kleiser, Director
  • “Since we're encoding data from both cameras on every axis of movement, the actors are free to move naturally without the need to follow a pre-programmed path. It might not sound like such a big thing, but I've shot a lot of movies where the actors were forced to hit an extensive series of marks, and it always seemed to affect their performance. With a musical such as this, I think the added freedom is appreciated by people on both sides of the camera.” Dave Stump, ASC
  • “Realtime feedback on-set is so powerful; it's really quite impressive how quickly things are getting lined up and shot. We are watching an important change in moviemaking, where we are passing the point of diminishing returns. It's becoming more efficient to make this extra effort in production and reap heavy rewards in post. This methodology should shrink post schedules and budgets significantly.”Jeff Kleiser, President Kleiser-Walczak
